Bishop Ukafia Prays for all the Churches in Ikot Ekpene, Hold Revival at St John the Baptist Anglican church

 The forth Bishop of Uyo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev'd Owen Ukafia has prayed for the success of all the churches sited in Ikot Ekpene, the first experimental local government of the British, west Africa. 

The Uyo Anglican Diocese spiritual head, who is on a three days Episcopal visit of the Ikot Ekpene Archdeaconry, was received earlier by the Anglican faithfuls of the Archdeaconry at Esien Road, with a welcome procession of singing, praises and dancing that terminated at the St. John the Baptist Anglican church, Obo road. 

Appreciating the congregants, who had come out in their numbers to welcome him and his wife, Bishop Ukafia, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ikot Ekpene Archdeaconry Anglican faithfuls for such demonstration of love and honour. The Bishop praying for God's blessings on the faithfuls, also included all the churches in Ikot Ekpene, and prayed that they succeed in their respective ministries and bring glory to God.

The Bishop is on a three days Episcopal and revival visit to the Archdeaconry, which will witnessed the confirmations and induction in to Christian Men Fellowship (CMF), women guide, girls guide, etc.

The revival is currents ongoings at the St. John the Baptist Anglican church, Obo road, Ikot Ekpene. You will do well to fellowship with them 

2024 LG ELECTIONS: OBOT AKARA PDP CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM “KING CLASS” GROUP

In a show of support and solidarity ahead of the upcoming local government elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Obot Akara Local Government Area, Hon. Simon Dominic, also known as Nkuma, welcomed a socio-political group from Ikot Idem Udo village into his growing coalition. The group, known as "King Class," met with Hon. Dominic in the early hours of Thursday 29th August, 2024 to pledge their backing for his candidacy.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Patron, Prince Ubong Enang, and the Village Youth President of Ikot Idem Udo, Comrade Kufre Asuquo, expressed their gratitude to Hon. Dominic, for his time and audience, drawing  his attention to the group confidence in his ability to address current challenges facing citizens of Obot Akara, with a view to improving their condition and standard of living, on assumption of office as the Chair. They attributed Hon. Dominic's emergence as the real deal, to his loyalty and sacrifices to his fatherland, and pledged their unalloyed commitment to mobilize and support him to victory.

Responding, Hon. Simon Dominic expressed his gratitude to the King Class group for their endorsement and the donation of campaign materials. He assured them of his commitment to the welfare and security of the people, while promising to acknowledge their support when elected as the Chairman of Obot Akara L.G.A. High point of the visit was the donation of campaign material to Chairmanship hopeful.

With the backing of influential community groups like King Class, Hon. Simon Dominic’s campaign continues to gain momentum ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.

I will Disappoint Those That Say I don't Know Anything...Nkuma

The People Democratic Party- PDP's Chairmanship Candidate in Obot Akara LGA, for the forth coming local government elections schedule for October, 5th 2024, by the Akwa Ibom State election management body, AKISIEC, Hon. Simon Dominic, has vowed to surprise and disappoint the minute segment of the populace, that ever entertained doubt, that he does not have the technical know how to superintend/administer the affairs of Obot Akara LGA,  given the mandate, as the Executive Chairman.

Speaking in a meeting with his media team, a subset of his AMAZING GRACE CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION, yesterday in Ikot Ekpene, Hon. Dominic, popularly known as Nkuma, reiterated his resolved to transform Obot Akara LGA, during his tenure with visible and modern infrastructures that will silent his traducers. 

"As a local man, in the local government, managing local people, I promise to, in  a space of three months, disappoint all those who says I, don't know anything",  Hon. Dominic reiterated, sending the members of the team to a tumultuous laughter. 

He revealed that he is a man that loves advice a lot,  listened more to suggestions/ criticism, and take them as an effective tools for advancement. 

Speaking further, the Chairmanship hopeful,  pointed out that he is not going to be the kind of Chairman, that will deceive his people and loot their common wealth. He informed the gathering that he is a self contented man, as such will not be selfish and power drunk in service to his people.

"If you know me very well, I am that kind of person that goes all out to make sure I prove wrong my doubters", Nkuma, posited. 

 He pointed out that because he is riding on the wings of Men, who have made their marks on the sand of time, exemplified themselves, and proven their onus in every assignments,  with verifiable track records of success, he is confident that he will not fail.

"What does it takes to be a local government Chairman?", Hon. Simon demanded from those that are doubting his credentials. 

"I believe more than nothing, that, what will make you a better Manager and Administrator of a local government, is your knowledge of the Area, the needs of the people, the commitment to lift the majority out of poverty, and carry  everyone who is ready to take this ride a long with me",  that is my resolved, the incoming Chairman added.

He finally called for unity among Obot Akara people,  continued support and solidarity to Governor Umo Eno's Arise agenda, to encourage the State government in  sustaining the current developmental strides in Obot Akara local government Area.

Amidst skepticism regarding the divine choice of Hon. Simon Dominic, popularly known as Nkuma, as the Obot Akara Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmanship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), a coalition of media enthusiasts and ardent supporters of the Amazing Grace campaign team gathered yesterday for a familiarization meeting. Operating under the banner of the Obot Akara Media Vanguard, the meeting showcased a strong and diverse turnout of supporters, some of whom traveled long distances to show their commitment to the campaign and the candidate.

The assembly was orchestrated by Hon. Amama Aloysius, the Personal Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Youth Matters and Secretary of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State. Addressing the gathered team, Ho

n. Amama commended the media enthusiasts for their dedication and assured the incoming chairman of the team’s unwavering support, professionalism, and readiness to campaign effectively.

The meeting witnessed a formal inauguration of the team, which was done by Hon. Simon Dominic himself. In his remarks, Hon. Dominic expressed his gratitude to the media team members, stating that their commitment to promoting his candidacy took him by surprise. He emphasized the importance of civility, dedication, and ethical conduct in their campaign efforts, urging the team to maintain high standards of professionalism. Hon.  Yes we know that times are hard, and the things that used to give gratifications no longer do. This we cannot say it is because things are no longer what they used to be, but it is because cares and worries have suddenly taken over areas of our lives we didn't used to worry about.

Never the less, you can choose to make your weekend a fun filled and a relaxed one, by resolving to only concentrate on stuffs and pursuits that would make you happy. 

Happiness is good, happiness is long life, happiness is a choice. Make this weekend count for you. Enjoy and have a fun filled weekend with this simple steps.

1. Choose to be happy, irrespective of anything that may come your way or the challenges of life. Challenges of life is only accompaniment with time, and no matter the gravity of your challenges, time would sweep them and rolled them away like season and time. So what would you gain, if you let your problem and challenges that are definitely going to go away with time take you along? Nna, were wanyou.

2.. Don't let your happiness to be as a result of what you have or what you don't have. Like the scripture stated, "My peace I give to give to you not as the world give", decide within you that your happiness is not centered on anything or on anyone, but on you. From your God, and from your inner peace

The Vicar/ Administrator Ikot Ekpene Archdeaconry of the Church of Nigeria Anglican communion, The Rev'd Mossy Onyinyechi Agu has come out to shade light and explained the purpose, power and the Significance of the word "PENTECOST" among Christians.  

Taking his text in a sermon he titled, The Power and Purpose of Pentecost, from the book of Acts of the apostles, chapter 2:1-8, 2:35-42, Rev''d Agu revealed that the word

"Pentecost" began as, and remains one of the major holidays on the Jewish calendar that occurs 50 days after Passover. According to the Vicar, "The word Pentecost literally means “50th or 50th day.” For Jews, Pentecost was the time when they celebrated the first harvest of the agricultural year. It was a time when they gave thanks to God for what the land had produced and for what their labor had yielded.

For Christians, Pentecost marks the birthday of the Christian church, the day when Peter preached and in response to that sermon there was also a harvest of 3,000 souls converted", he revealed.

"Remember ,  Peter preached the first sermon about Jesus as recorded in Acts 2. This is the same Peter who 53 days earlier had said about Jesus; “I never knew Him.” This is the same Peter who had nothing to say about Jesus when someone asked him directly if he was one of the followers of Jesus. Peter, on the Day of Pentecost, stood before a crowd of the same people he once feared, yet he boldly declared the gospel of Jesus Christ", the man of God reminded the congregation.

Going further, Peter stood before many of the same people who had shouted, “Crucify Him,” on the day Jesus stood trial before Pontius Pilate in the city of Jerusalem. Now Peter declared in no uncertain terms the Man they had ordered to be crucified was, in fact, the Son of God.

How did Peter go from being frightened to being fearless? How did Peter go from being cowardly to being courageous? . In this season , let the season of truth come upon us in Jesus Name Amen.
